Ā

Hey there, fellow bunny enthusiasts! If you're looking to keep your furry friends in tip-top shape, you've come to the right place. Today, we're diving deep into the wonderful world of rabbit diets. From the importance of hay to the best nutrition practices, we've got everything you need to know to keep your rabbits happy and healthy.

Why Rabbit Diet Matters

Let's start with the basics: why does a rabbit's diet matter so much? Well, just like us, what our fluffy companions eat plays a crucial role in their overall health and well-being. A balanced diet not only keeps them physically fit but also ensures they have the energy and vitality to hop around and explore to their heart's content.

Hay for Rabbits: The Ultimate Superfood

When it comes to rabbit diet staples, hay reigns supreme. It's not just food for thought – hay is essential for your bunny's digestive health, dental well-being, and overall happiness. Rabbits have delicate digestive systems that thrive on a high-fiber diet, and hay provides the perfect fiber fix.

But not all hay is created equal. The best hay for rabbits is Timothy and Orchard Grass hay, hands down. It's low in calcium and protein, making it ideal for maintaining a healthy urinary tract and preventing obesity. These two grass hays offer variety and additional nutrients to keep your rabbits munching happily. That’s why we recommend our specialty blend of timothy and orchard grass hay strategically mixed to offer even the pickiest pets a variety of tastes, textures, and nutrients to ensure proper overall health in your bundle of love! The Importance of Rabbit Nutrition

Now, let's talk turkey – or should I say carrot? While hay is the cornerstone of a rabbit's diet, it's essential to supplement it with other nutritious foods to ensure they get all the vitamins and minerals they need to thrive. Fresh veggies like leafy greens (think carrot tops, bok choy, and romaine lettuce) are a must, providing essential nutrients like vitamin A and calcium. Be sure to introduce new veggies slowly and in small quantities.

But hold your horses – or should I say, bunnies – not all veggies are created equal. Some, like iceberg lettuce and broccoli, can cause digestive upset in rabbits and should be avoided. It's essential to do your research and offer a varied diet to ensure your rabbits get all the nutrients they need without any tummy troubles.

Putting It All Together: Crafting the Perfect Rabbit Diet Plan

Now that we've covered the basics, let's put it all together and craft the ultimate rabbit diet plan. Start with a generous serving of hay – about 70-80% of your bunny's diet should consist of hay. Then, add in a variety of fresh veggies to provide essential vitamins and minerals. Finally, sprinkle in a small amount of rabbit pellets to round out their nutritional needs.

But remember, moderation is key – don't overdo it on the pellets, as they can lead to obesity and other health issues if fed in excess. Always make sure your bunnies have access to fresh, clean water at all times to keep them well hydrated.

Hoppy and Healthy Bunnies Ahead! And there you have it, folks- the ultimate guide to optimizing your rabbit's diet for health and happiness. By focusing on hay for rabbits, providing a balanced diet rich in fresh veggies, and ensuring they get all the nutrients they need, you'll be well on your way to having the hoppiest, healthiest bunnies around. So go ahead, hop to it - your furry friends will thank you for it! Remember, a well-fed bunny is a happy bunny. Here's to many years of hopping adventures with your beloved furry companions!

Excellent, safe hay!

My old lady bun loves this hay, as does my daughter's "hay disposal" of a bunny. And I love it because it has no herbicides in it. I know I can safely put our bunny poop on my garden without fear of killing all my plants!

My hoppers LOVE this hay!

I cannot believe how excited my rabbits were when I opened the first bag! It smells so fresh and (chocolatey?)I hate having to toss old and soiled hay. This stuff really gets munched quickly!

I have a rescue bun that was not a good hay eater. This hay has increased his hay consumption by at least 50 percent. The hay is fresh and very clean. It was packaged well and shipped the was same day . I will definitely be reordering . Thanks for getting more healthy hay into my bunny.

As usual Bell provides the best quality of hay

As usual Bell provides the best quality of hay I’ve ever gotten Love! I had to get a ā€œnameā€ brand the other day because I was late ordering and I’m currently talking to their customer service for a refund because the quality is SO poor in comparison I refuse to feed it to my rabbit! It literally looked like law mower trimmings someone raked up and sold me for an unreasonable price and it not fit for my rabbit! I’m so glad my order came later that day so u could feed my bunny the quality hay he’s come to love andexpect!!

nothing else worked

our bunny is getting up there in age and he had a hard time through his last shed. zenny had a lot of fur in his poop and wouldn't eat the timothy hay from chewy, but he ate the bellfast hay. we were getting desperate and thankfully bellfast popped up so we tried it. and it worked! thank you.

Older Bunny Loves 1st Cut

Older Bunny Loves 1st Cut.
Bunny stopped eating, I thought it was the beginning of the end, it took 4 tries, including second cut, before she started to eat again. Within 2 days her poop and fur were back to healthy, and she is bouncing around like she usually does, thank goodness.

I found you guys online looking for hay for my buns

I found you guys online looking for hay for my buns. I was loyal to a competitor but the quality has been going down. My last order has a box full of dried out and brown hay. I can’t and won’t try to feed that to my boys. I came here and bought some to try. They LOVED it, I loved it…. I’m impressed! I love how it is packaged individually and keeps it fresh. I’m back here now ordering more and will now be a loyal customer. Thank you!! Xoxo Geo & Mouse

Ginni loves

Ginni loves it! She dove into the hay and didn’t come up for air for almost 20 minutes! She has never reacted to fresh hay like that before! I swear I’m giving her too much at night but there’s hardly any left in the morning…unfortunately she becoming very disapproving and starts planning my demise around noon (I give her fresh hay, sticks and a treat about 5 every day)

My six guinea pigs and my free roaming rabbits all love this hay very much

My Dutch rabbit

My Dutch rabbit, Coco, is eleven years young and has always been fussy about his hay. He likes softer texture hay so this second cut Timothy hay blend is perfect. It is always clean and fresh with no waste. We will continue to order this hay and I’ve recommended it to my friend for her rabbit.

Must have quality hay

I’ve ordered a variety on the hay and my rabbits seem to really like them; been ordering from Bell for almost a year. The bags are always packed full and no scrappy pieces like the ones you get at the pet store. I love opening the bags and catching the scent of healthy hay grass for my buns! I encourage you to try this company and they deliver in a very timely manner too!

I love how the company assures you that the hay is free from anything that should not be there. I loved how it was packaged too. My young guinea pig is eating it better than the other hay. Thank you
